Delta is the first female aussie that has come into our home and what a
wonderful addition she has been. She has the whole package- looks,
movement, personality, and brains. She came to us from Amanda Bushee of
MuddyFeet Aussies, with whom she is co-owned.

Delta's personality makes her stand out in our household. She can go from
running crazy in the yard to cuddling on your lap in a matter of minutes. Although
a natural show dog, she is no prima dona- she spends most of her time laying
in the pool or rolling in the dirt.

Delta has done well with limited showing. She shows easily and is being
consistently pulled for winners in tough competition. She still looks "young" in
the open class and still has some maturing to do. She earned her CGC and
TDI titles just after her first birthday. She qualified easily for her RN in three
shows. We are currently training for her RA and CD title and hope to have both
started by the end of the year. She is also training for flyball.

Delta's dam, Molly, developed some eye abnormalities two years after she had
produced Delta's litter. At this time, we are holding off on breeding Delta until
these issues are better understood. One tool Aussie breeders now have is a
DNA test from the Animal Health Trust in the United Kingdom that identifies a
mutant gene that may predispose a dog to getting cataracts. At this time we
are gathering more information on this test to help with our decisions with
Delta. She will continue to be shown and competed, in addition to remaining an
important part of our home.
