About Us |
We live in Indianola, Iowa, which is a small community about 20 minutes south of Des Moines. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but moved out to Iowa to attend Iowa State's animal science program and continued on to their veterinary college. While in school, I met my husband, Donald, and we decided to settle in the midwest. I am a practicing veterinarian at a small animal hospital in Indianola. I became interested in Aussies in 2002 through Denise Walters of Dreamstreet Aussies. At the time, I was just getting involved in a dogsport called flyball, but I did not have my own dog. I asked to train and compete her dog Tye. This was the beginning of my love for the breed. I acquired my own Aussie in May 2003. Conner was an excellent first dog and he continues to teach and inspire me. In 2004 we added our second Aussie Ripley. In 2006 I was lucky to find the female Aussie that I had been looking for. Delta will hopefully mature to be a wonderful foundation bitch. Along the way, we have also come to own a corgi rescue, Dexter, and an English pointer, Panda (that was my husband's doing...). Our exciting new addition is George- a cardi corgi all the way from New Jersey! I try to stay involved in many aspects of training and competing with my dogs. We actively compete in conformation, obedience, and flyball. We have also done some limited work in herding and agility. All of my dogs have there canine good citizen title (CGC) and are therapy dog certified (TDI) when old enough. |
